Virus Brontok Removal for Windows

The steps to remove Brontok computer virus :

1. Boot your computer with XP life CD. This CD made by Bart PEBuilder ( http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder ) or you can use Knoppix Life CD. Make it in a “healthy PC “ using master of windows XP follow the instruction until finish and now you have XP life CD.

2. The XP life CD have no risk to be infected FYI, Brontok active even in safe mode or DOS bootong system. All hidden file can be shown

3. Rename hidden file MSVBVM60-old.dll with the new one name.

4. to show up/unhidden go to : HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer delete the entry :”NoFolderOption”

5. After boot computer by HDD turned off the system restore.

6. Delete all the tsk in Schedule Task.

7. Download Freeware to open the locked registry ( Caused by virus ) in :

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/tool.to.reset.shellopencommand.registry.keys.html

8. Remove all the entries registry.

9. Find items in the registry file name like :

“Kesenjangansosial”,”rakyatkelaparan”.”brontok”.”rontok”.

10. Install antivirus with the newest Definition Files.

11. Scan it

12. Done.
